What does nice mean to you?
Nice girls have gotten a bad rap lately. Nice girls, they say, finish last. Or that Nice Girl Syndrome is the female equivalent of Toxic Masculinity. But people are confusing niceness with weakness. It is not weak to stand up for others, to put others first, to fight for the rights of everyone, not just yourself. To say I don’t need to be brazen to be strong. Nice can be iron wrapped in a velvet glove.
It’s time to reclaim the idea of nice. Not as boring and one dimensional and a pushover, but of kindness and love and a quiet power that, like the ocean, can absorb the stone thrown at it, wear away the rough edges and return it in time as something beautiful.
And the truth is, nice women are just as free to embrace their sensuality and their sexuality as any other. They just don’t need to flaunt it.
Unless, you know, they want to.
