Falling behind
March 8 was International Women’s Day.
It’s now March 11, and I haven’t written anything or posted anything to celebrate.
I’d like to apologize, though I know there are not very many out there hanging on to every word.
Typically, I write something meaningful and powerful for IWD, but life has been out of balance the last month, and it’s hard to think about photography when the world spins so wildly off kilter.
Know that I am thinking about you. Yes you, woman who is reading this and wondering “should I do a boudoir session?” or “Do I trust a male photographer to take my boudoir images?” I am thinking about you, and cheering for you, and wanting the best for you.
And you know what? If you decide you don’t want me to shoot your boudoir images? If you decide the answer to either question above is no? That’s okay. I’m a big fan of allowing people autonomy. It is your decision to make. If what you see here isn’t a persuasive enough argument to book me as your photographer, that’s on me.
If what you’ve read here doesn’t convince you that my goal is to celebrate you and create remarkable images that capture character, motion, emotion? That’s okay. I want you to be happy with your decision, even if that decision is to book someone else.
But if you do want to reach out, to ask questions, or to discuss your idea for your dream shoot? I’m right here. There’s a form you can fill out, if you like, but feel free to send me an email if you’d prefer. Or track me down on Facebook or Instagram and send me a message there.
