We did our annual Naughty or Nice quiz leading up to Christmas.

We asked a series of sexy questions, from “Do you like Leather, Lace or both?” to “Do you like to watch, be watched, both or neither.”

At the end of it all, people were given the chance to describe their dream boudoir shoot.

Then they clicked on a link that would determine if they were Naughty or Nice.

The link led to a page that said “or”. Then it said:

Congratulations! You’re you! Naughty? Nice? Both? Neither? You are not some movie character, written to behave a certain way at the whims of others. You are you. You contain multitudes.

“You are not the labels people put on you. You are not your upbringing or what others think you should be. You are unique. Individual. And words like naughty or nice? Just don’t do justice to the breadth and depth you contain. You’re both. You’re neither. You’re you. Liking to be spanked? Doesn’t make you naughty. Wearing a comfy tee-shirt to bed? Doesn’t make you nice. These are things that make you you.

Wanna be naughty? Go ahead, and be naughty—however you define “naughty”—even if you are generally nice. Wanna be nice? That’s a choice that you get to make.

So go ahead. Be sweet. Be sassy. Be modest or be brazen. Be kinky or be conservative. Be all that you can be by booking a Beyond Boudoir Session. These can be as naughty and/or as nice as you want to make them. Heck, they can be both naughty and nice. There’s no preconceptions, no ten poses you must do. These sessions are as fun or as serious and as sexy or as reserved as you want to be.

One of the things I am trying to do here is to let people know that they are beautiful whether they like leather or lace, whether they wear sexy lingerie, an oversized tee-shirt or nothing at all to bed. That being kinky or not doesn’t make anyone better or worse or naughtier or nicer. Some of the kinkiest people I know are also the kindest, and it is that, more than what you wear, that makes you beautiful. So screw naughty or nice! Or lean into it and embrace being one or the other. It’s all good.

That out of the way, here’s the results of the survey. I assume many if not most of the respondents are out of the Grande Prairie/Fort St. John areas, but more people filled out the quiz than entered the draw, so I can’t confirm.

What to do with the information presented here? I mean, this could be fodder for a photoshoot, if you like. Or you can steal one of the ideas at the bottom.

So, more people like leather than lace, but the vast majority like both. At the same time, perhaps? I’m thinking leather pants and something lacy or silky on top? Maybe a leather jacket to complete the outfit….

Coming as no surprise to me, comfort is the biggest driver of women’s underwear. I suspect this is in reference to daily drivers as opposed to hot date night, but I didn’t really specify.

The other half is far more intriguing, with all categories represented (including vibrating, which I tossed in as a lark), except for granny panties (which I have been told are pretty comfortable, so maybe that’s what the whatever crowd actually meant?)

As someone who is proudly in the boxer-brief camp, I am pleased with the results, though I am going to tell you that in my case, they do not improve my looks. They are comfy, though.

Meanwhile, I am aghast at the number of people who like the tightie whities. I mean, if you’re an underwear model, sure….

Another one of those “no surprises here” categories. The majority of people like to be comfortable when they sleep, be it in an oversized tee-shirt or the altogether. Both of which make excellent outfits for shoots, if you don’t want to go for the traditional (dare I say cliche?) sexy lingerie.

For the 11.1 percent of you who don’t know what dominant or submissive means, here’s a definition brought to you by wikipedia: Those who take the superior position are called dominants—Doms (regardless of gender) or Dommes (female)—while those who take the subordinate position are called submissive, or subs. A switch is an individual who plays either role. Two switches together may negotiate and exchange roles several times in a session.

Most of the respondents identified as submissive or switch, which is also not surprising. Indeed, it was only at the last minute that there were a few people who came in as dominant.

Most people are not fans of spanking. Indeed, nearly 67 percent were either ambivalent or not into spanking. Interestingly, of the people who did like spanking, they to a one liked being spanked and not spanking.

That, or people didn’t understand the way I phrased the answer. Either way, it seems like spanking? Not so much.

When it comes to Australian kissing (it’s like French kissing, but down under….), most people were all for it, in whatever guise that it comes. Yes to all and the equally equitable 69ing were the lion’s share of the responses.

Gotta be honest, this one kinda shocked me. Over half of the respondents (who I am assuming are female) said they would be willing to engage in a threesome, 16.7 percent of them enthusiastically. (Insert link to Ex-rated sessions here).

When alone, it seems the majority of you out there are prepared, with 44.4 percent of respondents having mechanical options and another quarter being willing to handle the problem themselves. (That’s a pun. Handle, hand…nevermind.) 11.1 percent would make a booty call and 16.7 percent would be willing to just go to bed, and lay there, maybe for hours, just tossing and turning…..

That’s one of the saddest statistics of this whole thing.

Remember when I said the 16.7 percent of women who were going to bed unsatisfied was one of the saddest stats in this whole thing? As a photographer and video maker, this one is even sadder. Nuf said.

On the other hand, I would like to mention here that I am a professional shibari rigger. Well, not professional. But I have my own ropes….

This one is the single largest margin of the whole quiz. And if you’re looking for top shelf images to send….

You know, that Betty White is really good looking….

At the end of the quiz, people were asked to offer their money-is-no-object dream boudoir shoot.

A number of people like the idea of a sex dungeon/bondage type shoot, but some people had very creative answers. “In a gaming room, with a man playing video games. I’m standing right in front of him with black sexy lingerie on with leg garters. He has a stunned look on his face and a hard on.”

Another person said “a rave sex party scene, neon and black lights, very erotic. Wearing my favorite black lingerie, fish nets, heels and a mask. Boundary crossing pictures of curiosity, excitement and vulnerability.”

Outdoors was also popular. “On a beach/under water fall with sexy lingerie,” said one. “It would be in the woods forest in the fall. Wearing leather, with one or both of my partners. Would be extremely sexy and erotic, night time with a fire.” Still another says shooting at the beach would be sexy AF. “Standing in the waves, and of course rolling in the sand. I also would LOVE to do a shoot at a campsite with a tent as my hubby and i are big into camping. I think he would love that with a fire in the back ground so the light of the flame is glowing on me!”

Another person voted for outdoors, by a stream in a forest, with her man “classy, but seductive.”

“I think the perfect place would be underwater, it truly is my element.”

Finally, one person says “anywhere there are trees, a clean river, waterfall. Nature is sexy, I feel free in a natural setting. I love winter, if I could do a shot in the snow around a fire in the woods...perfect! Alone would be best, but with my partner would work also.”

To all of these things and more besides I say: bring it! Let’s create epic, empowering art from your dreams and make them a reality!

And there you have it, the results of this year’s Naughty or Nice Quiz. Let me know what you think. Disagree with some of the results? Have your own take on the matter? Feel free to comment.
